Kathryn Gallagher is an American singer and actress. She’s famous for playing Bella Fox in the musical Jagged Little Pill on Broadway. She won a Grammy Award for the Best Musical Theater Album and got nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
Early Life and Education:
Kathryn was born in New York on July 23, 1993, to Peter Gallagher and Paula Harwood. When she was 11, she moved to Los Angeles and started learning theater at the Adderley School. She began writing her own music in middle school. Kathryn identifies as bisexual. She went to the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music.
Career:
Kathryn’s song “Nothing Ever None” was in the 2011 film Someday This Pain Will Be Useful to You, and “Damaged” was in the 2012 film Thanks for Sharing. She released four solo EPs, including “I’m Fine” (2014) and “American Spirit” (2015). In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she released “Demos, Vol. 1 and 2,” which she produced in her family’s house in Connecticut.
She made her Broadway debut in 2015 as the Voice of Martha in Spring Awakening. She also appeared in the Lifetime series You and guest-starred on The Flash and Indoor Boys.
In 2019, Kathryn joined the Broadway cast of Jagged Little Pill as Bella Fox. She sang an original song, “Predator,” created for the musical. She got nominated for a Tony Award in 2020. The show opened in 2019 but closed in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
