Joanna Kulig is a lady from Poland who is good at acting and singing. She has worked in movies, TV, radio, and on stage. She has won awards for her work in European films, and in 2018, a Polish magazine called Wprost said she was one of the 50 most important people in Poland for her contributions to Polish cinema.

Joanna tried to be a jazz singer but it didn’t work out. Instead, she went to the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Kraków and graduated in 2007. She started acting on stage while still in school and got her first big movie role in 2007 in a film called Wednesday, Thursday Morning. She got an award for Best Debut for that.

She has worked a lot with a director named Paweł Pawlikowski and was in his movies like The Woman in the Fifth, Ida (which won an Academy Award), and Cold War. Cold War made her very famous, and she won awards for her acting in it.

Joanna has also been in the highest-grossing Polish film called Clergy and a Netflix series called The Eddy. She was born in 1982 in Krynica, Poland, and has four siblings. She sang in a church choir as a child and studied piano. She moved to Kraków when she was 18, and that’s when she started learning about acting and singing.

Joanna is married to a film director named Maciej Bochniak, and they have a son. She speaks Polish, English, French, and German. She is a Christian and has been involved in charity work, supporting adults with intellectual disabilities through the Against the Odds Foundation. In 2023, she received an award for her charity work and dedicated it to her mom. Joanna Kulig is also known for her work in the fashion world and has been recognized as one of the most influential people in Poland for her contributions to cinema.
