James Rash is a man who was born on July 15, 1971, in America. He does acting, makes people laugh as a comedian, and creates films. You might know him as Dean Craig Pelton from the TV show Community, which was on NBC from 2009 to 2015. He got a nomination for a special award for his funny acting in 2012.

James also wrote a movie called The Descendants in 2011. He worked on it with his friends Alexander Payne and Nat Faxon. They won big awards like the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. They were also nominated for other awards like the BAFTA Award and Golden Globe Award.

After that, James and Nat wrote and directed two funny movies called The Way, Way Back (2013) and Downhill (2020).
