Geraldine Indira Viswanathan is an actress from Australia. She became famous for her role as Kayla in the movie Blockers in 2018. People really noticed her and called her the breakout star of the film. She was also in the movies Hala and Bad Education. Geraldine has been in a TV show called Janet King and stars in the comedy show Miracle Workers.
Early Life:
Geraldine’s dad, Suresh Viswanathan, is a doctor from India, and her mom, Anja Raith, is from Switzerland. Anja wanted to be an actress and runs an acting school now. Geraldine has a younger sister, and she loves horses and animals. She went to the Hunter School of the Performing Arts in Newcastle.
When she was 15, Geraldine and her family moved to Los Angeles, hoping she could get roles on Disney and Nickelodeon shows. She thought about studying international studies and media at university but chose to focus on acting.
Career:
Geraldine started acting at the age of four in a Kodak commercial. In 2016, she was in a movie called Emo the Musical. In 2017, she joined the cast of the TV show Janet King. She also helped with casting for the movie Crazy Rich Asians.
Her big break came in 2018 when she got a role in the movie Blockers. After that, she was in The Package and Hala, which went to the Sundance Film Festival. The Hollywood Reporter named her one of the “Next Gen Talent” in 2018.
In 2019, Geraldine was in the series Miracle Workers and played Rachel in the film Bad Education, which got Emmy nominations. In 2020, she starred in The Broken Hearts Gallery.
Geraldine voiced Tawnie in BoJack Horseman. In 2021, she was cast in the movie Cat Person, and in 2022, she joined The Beanie Bubble.
In 2024, Geraldine got a role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thunderbolts, set to be released in July 2025, replacing Ayo Edebiri.
