Dennis William Quaid is an actor from America. He is famous for his main roles in movies and TV shows. The Guardian said he’s one of the best actors who never got an Academy Award nomination.

Quaid acted in many movies like Breaking Away (1979), The Right Stuff (1983), The Big Easy (1986), Innerspace (1987), Great Balls of Fire! (1989), Dragonheart (1996), The Parent Trap (1998), and others. He got nominated for a Golden Globe Award for his role in Far from Heaven (2002).

Quaid was born in Houston, Texas, in 1954. His dad was an electrician and his mom was a real estate agent. He went to school in Texas and later studied drama at the University of Houston.

Quaid started acting in Hollywood in the 1970s. His first movie was Crazy Mama (1975). He became famous after appearing in Breaking Away (1979) and The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia (1981).

In the 1980s and 1990s, he acted in many successful movies like The Right Stuff (1983), Innerspace (1987), Great Balls of Fire! (1989), and Frequency (2000).

Quaid has also been on TV. He played President Bill Clinton in The Special Relationship (2010) and Sheriff Ralph Lamb in Vegas (2012-2013). He’s been in lots of other shows and movies too.

Quaid has been married four times and has three kids. He’s been through some tough times, like struggling with addiction, but he’s overcome them. He’s also a musician, a pilot, and a golfer. Quaid is a fan of the Houston Astros baseball team and has even narrated a DVD about them. He’s also started podcasting recently.
