David Packard Corenswet is an American actor. He was born on July 8, 1993. He graduated from Juilliard in 2016. After that, he started acting on TV shows like House of Cards in 2018. Later, he got leading roles in The Politician (2019–2020) and Hollywood (2020), both made by Ryan Murphy. He also acted in movies like Look Both Ways and Pearl, and in the HBO show We Own This City (all in 2022).
Personal Life and Education:
Corenswet grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His dad, John Corenswet, was from a famous Jewish family in New Orleans and used to be a stage actor before becoming a lawyer. His mom is also a lawyer. He has an older sister named Amy. His grandfather, Edward Packard, created the Choose Your Own Adventure books.
Corenswet finished high school at the Shipley School and got a drama degree from Juilliard in 2016. He got into Juilliard while still a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania. He got married in New Orleans in March 2023.
Career:
When he was a kid, Corenswet acted in many theater shows. He wrote and acted in a movie called Following Chase in 2011. He also co-wrote, produced, and acted in a comedy web series called Moe & Jerryweather (2014–2016).
In 2016, he got a role in a TV series called The Tap, but the show didn’t get picked up. His first movie after Juilliard was Affairs of State (2018), a political thriller.
Corenswet became well-known for his roles in Ryan Murphy’s shows The Politician (2019–2020) and Hollywood (2020). He was also in the HBO series We Own This City in 2022.
He acted in the Netflix film Look Both Ways and the A24 film Pearl in 2022. He has upcoming roles in the Apple TV+ series Lady in the Lake and the Searchlight Pictures film The Greatest Hits. He also plays the male lead in the pilot for FX’s The Answers, based on Catherine Lacey’s novel.
In May 2023, he was cast in Twisters, set to be released in 2024. In June 2023, he was cast as Clark Kent / Superman in the DC Studios film Superman, set to be released in 2025. The filming started on February 29, 2024.
