Allen Payne, an American actor, was born on July 7, 1968. He’s famous for playing Jason Alexander in the movie Jason’s Lyric in 1994 and C.J. Payne in the TV show Tyler Perry’s House of Payne from 2006 to 2012 and again from 2020 onwards. He’s also known for his role as Lance Rodman in the last two seasons of The Cosby Show. In his early life, Payne grew up in Harlem, New York City, and went to Pennsauken High School in New Jersey.
Allen Payne started his acting career with a role in The Cosby Show in 1990. He played Lance Rodman, Charmaine’s boyfriend, for two seasons. Later, he appeared in episodes of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air and Malcolm & Eddie.
Throughout his career, Payne acted in various movies, including CB4, New Jack City, Jason’s Lyric, Vampire in Brooklyn, Double Platinum, and The Perfect Storm. From 2006, he played the lead role as C.J. Payne in Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. In 2018, he reprised his role in The Paynes, and in 2022, he starred and reprised his role as “Gee Money” in the stage adaptation of New Jack City: Live on Stage, produced by playwright Je’Caryous Johnson.
